iPod selling record numbers despite Zune competition
November 17th 2006 17:21
Looks like the iPod has defeated the "iPod Killer", Microsofts Zune. When I say defeat I mean iPod has had tremendous sales even during the Zune release. In fact, iPods numbers are still beating most of the predictions from industry watchers across the globe.
Apple Insider has a column showing the soon to be released numbers at anywhere from 14 to 15 million iPods this quarter.
"Munster, whose current model calls for the Cupertino, Calif.-based iPod maker to sell 14.7 million iPods in the December quarter, believes the first month of iPod NPD data implies the company is likely to beat his estimates."
My question is...
Where is Zune? Didn't Microsoft just launch a major media player that was dubbed "iPod Killer"? I don't know anyone who has one and an easy majority of bloggers and web users are still yapping with joy over their iPods.
Is the poor little Zune sitting with the crickets?
